Maëlle Desbrosses

Maëlle Desbrosses

Trained both in classical and improvised music, Maëlle Desbrosses graduated at the HEM school of Geneva in Miguel Da Silva’s course.

Having studied composition and arrangement, she also plays double bass, cello, viola d’amore and sings as well.

Music has always been a limitless universe to her, where classical education can stand alongside Jazz, traditional music, free improv as a language, understandable to all, crossing over many different genres, such as modern string quartet with Jean-Philippe Viret, Mathias Lévy and Bruno Ducret or contemporary improvised music with Sylvaine Hélary.

Her constant need for creation and engaging with others lead her to Metéore (contemporary and improvised duet with Fanny Meteier), the contemporary jazz sextet Ouroboros, and the trio Suzanne (Jazz Migration laureate), therefore playing with Delphine Joussein and Elodie Pasquier, Hélène Labarrière, Jacky Molard or Dominique Pifarely.
